Last week I attended the Sprachen und Beruf conference - an annual get together in Berlin dedicated to the use of languages in business. There were the usual things you find at conferences – a panel discussion, plenary speakers and a range of smaller group discussions. I was there to present Chinese 4 Europeans, which as it turned out was a timely intervention.

Since 2009 the whole European Community is experiencing a serious economic crisis. In these hard times, many entrepreneurs close down their companies, others focus on development of complex strategies that would let their business survive. Still, we shouldn't forget, that there is also the other side of the coin, and even after the heaviest slowdown, the time of economic prosperity must come.

Recently one could have noticed that Lithuanian media cover topics related to China more frequently than before.

En Europe, nous sommes souvent conseillés de s’adapter sur des coutumes locales afin de réussir dans les affaires en Chine. Beaucoup ont compris qu’il faudrait camoufler au maximum cette identité étrangère par se comporter comme leurs interlocuteurs pour se faire accepter.
